The Way to the Heart is Through Food

For quite some time now, February 14 – Valentine’s Day – has also been celebrated in our country. Couples in love prepare big or small surprises for each other. If you still don’t have an idea, this blog is for you. Why not make the day special by setting a beautiful table for your loved one? Cooking a meal with your own hands just for the two of you sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

If you liked the idea, we have prepared a small menu for you.

1. Grilled Halloumi Salad

Light, filling, and easy to prepare. If you love cheese, you will definitely enjoy this salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch arugula (roka)
  • 1 head lettuce
  • ¼ red cabbage
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ¼ lemon juice
  • 100 g halloumi cheese
  • Fresh herbs (to taste)

Preparation:
Wash and finely chop the greens and red cabbage, place in a bowl. Slice the halloumi cheese into at least 1 cm thick pieces and grill in a pan without adding oil. It will release water at first; once the water evaporates, flip and continue frying until golden (about 2–3 minutes). Add salt, pepper, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and olive oil to the greens and cabbage, mix well. Transfer to a serving dish and place the grilled halloumi on top. Your delicious Grilled Halloumi Salad is ready.

2. Fettuccine Alfredo

The combination of mushrooms and cream in fettuccine pasta is irresistible. Although it takes a little time, you will enjoy both the process and the taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack fettuccine or tagliatelle pasta
  • 200 ml cream
  • ½ chicken fillet
  • ½ pack mushrooms
  • 6 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp dried mint
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation:
Boil the pasta in water for 15 minutes and set aside. In a pan, add oil and sauté the chopped mushrooms, then add diced chicken fillet. Near the end, add cream and cook for another 3 minutes before removing from heat. Add parmesan cheese, dried mint, thyme, salt, and pepper, mix well, and let rest. Finally, combine the pasta with the mixture and serve.

3. Oreo Magnolia Dessert

What better way to end such a sweet day than with dessert? Oreo Magnolia is both light and delicious, and easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 2 packs Oreo cookies

Preparation:
For the cream: In a medium pot, add milk, egg yolk, sugar, flour, and cornstarch. Mix well before heating. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. Once thick, add vanilla sugar, beat with a mixer, and let rest for at least 30 minutes. Then add cream and beat for another 2 minutes. Crush the Oreos in a blender and place in a bowl. To assemble: In a glass, first add a layer of cream, then Oreo crumbs, repeating until full. Your delicious dessert is ready. Enjoy!
